I have a 91 TT that has some basic performance enhancments. It has CSX intercoolers, split downpipes, cats deleted with a performance exhaust, boost controller set at 13 psi, and ashspec ecu upgrade. I bought the car in a non running condition so I never drove it previous to the upgrades. To be honest I haven't been impressed with the performance of the car. I have run it at the dragstrip and it has run a best et of 14.1 at 100 mph. My Stock 350z runs about dead even with it. In the mean time I bought a second TT car (1990) with boost jets, jwt ecu upgrade, exhaust, and an underdrive crank pulley but only stock intercoolers. That car is considerably quicker than my first car. I recently pulled the engine on the first car because of an exhaust leak and a smoking turbo and found that the left vtc solenoid was burnt and had no resistance. Could the failed vtc solenoid alone account for this poor performance?
